I guess you are looking for a second one to fill the case. You can’t have that one getting lonely in that case all by it’s self.

They seem to come up at about the rate of only 1 or 2 a year. I missed one a couple of years ago that had no scales. Ivory being somewhat scarce (try unobtainable now) I wouldn't be keen on using wood or some other material that wasn't authentic to the period. They were sold as either ivory or "black" - this was probably ebonite (hard rubber, sometimes called vulcanite) or maybe even gutta percha. Zak Jarvis probably would know.

Incidentally, and I haven't seen anyone mention this before, the Lancet edge seems only to have been sold between 1848 and 1858. The price dropped over the production period from 6s to 2/6 when it was finally discontinued in favour of the Shilling Razor. This dating is inferred from the frequency of contemporary newspaper ads, we don't really have anything else to go on as far as i know.

Not sure if I'm happy to report, or sad to report, but at this moment - for the first time in about a decade - I do not have anything straight razor related on the way to my house. One of my kids graduates high school this weekend so my wife is all frazzled with house and party preparations - but after that.... bring on the steel once again!

    A couple of nice old Solingens arrived! A 13/16 and a 7/8.
More than happy, prices were right. Summertime!

It should be in the mail by noon today A strop from Gabriel. I like Japanese strops so I asked Gabe for a similar width like a kanayama and no handles, just tabs.

Received a Puma razor today NOS. Waiting for a Thater brush stand, and some Castle Forbes Pre - Shave and an Old Spice mug from eBay. I like fitting Hard soaps in to old spice mugs. I have about 7. A couple have Harris, a couple TOBS, Fine, Men’s Soap, And Tabac. I have a large Mug someone gave me years ago and L’Occitane fits in there nice and snug.

Actually, besides the aforementioned items I have some TOBS Jermyn Street After Shave Lotion coming. I love that scent. In the last two weeks I have gotten 4 NOS Puma razors, MDC Soap, Castle Forbes Cream, TOBS Jermyn Pre - Shave, L'Occitane Soap and two Thater brushes, a 4125/4 B and a 4125/6 B. I have to stop ordering stuff or my wife is going to RUN MY ASS OFF! I went years without adding anything except I bought a new strop a few years back from SRD. I had used the same soap GFT Almond, same brush, a 21mm silvertip with a Col Conk logo, no idea who made it. I used it for over 20 years. Once I started though it was like eating peanuts, I couldn't seem to stop. LOL Happy Shaving guys!

I am a sucker for the old WWII-era CMons and Burrells from New York.
At present, I have an old Ellicotteville, NY made Blackie CMon on the way in it's crappy original scales! Surely I don't need another, but these fragile, thinly-ground masterpieces rarely come up with any size to them.....How wide you think this one is?
    Some American fun!

Note I typed Blackie Cmon as it is upon the tang.....
Were it a German-made fancy-scaled one from the mid 50's onward, it would be seen as a 'CMon Blackie' as PJM bought the name and imported them (Again!) and Carl retired.
    Some cool history. Waiting patiently...

Nice CMON Sharptonn! A guy a bought some razors from had a nice CMON with the logo and bolsters on the yellow scales, but he wanted to keep it!

Got this the other day from Colleen aka "churley" of Gentleman's Quarter. Opened the envelope outside and the scents poured out.
As you can see I already used one of them though.
