    Default My first straight razor

Hello everyone, this forum had been a big help in learning all things about straight razor shaving, I've been browsing and reading and the more I learn the more interesting it is.

I received my first razor today. I'm still waiting for the strop. I'm excited to have my first shave. As mentioned in this forum we need to respect the blade and not fear it so that's the approach I'm taking.

    Nice !

Good luck when you take that to your face...you may soon find shaving is something you look forward to. I wouldn't consider giving up SR shaving.

That is a very reputable brand razor. I hope you bought it shave ready. If it is shave ready then don't strop it for the first use. Happy shaving!

Really nice looking razor for your first dip in the SR water. As mentioned above make sure that the blade is truly shave ready and has been honed by someone who knows what they are doing.
Any questions just post on here and the answers will start to flow from a very deep well of experience.
    Good luck!

Thank you for your encouragement. Unfortunately the razor isn't shave ready so I'll have to wait a week or so before I can actually use it. Yes, this seems to be very addicting, I am in fact looking at other straights and appreciate how beautiful they are.

    Filarmonicas are great razors.

    Congrats on a superb find/purchase.

Great start! Mind that little muted point. If you hate that razor please give me a buzz.
