It would be a start. Scales are not just one size fits all. Blades are different thicknesses as well as different lengths from pivot to toe. There are a few things to consider. However Brad has done a lot of restoration work and would be a helpful person to buy supplies from and should be able to point you in the right direction.

I have also learned a lot here. It is a very sharing bunch. Good luck with the pinning and watch the videos in the wiki. It can sometimes be challenging.

It probably wouldn't hurt to just see how a razor is pinned. Here's a thread/video that takes you through the process. http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...tml#post875983

    and enjoy!!

Rod, washers, anvil or block of steel, 3 to 4oz. ball peen ( nice smooth round one) flush cutter and a small file might help a lot.
    Drill press is REAL handy.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Woah woah 10pups don't scare the guy off... All you need is a hammer ;-) oh you want ur pins nicer you should buy a chasing hammer... Oh you want them shiney... You should buy a jewelers buffing wheel... So u want to make your new scales? Buy a belt sander... That's how they did me in.... Step by step until I was too deep
