I don't know of many straight razor sets. But I would recommend a Grim Brothers straight razor and it comes shave ready (pre-sharpened) which I use with proraso shave cream. But as a beginners a shavette may be better for you, I suggest the Dovo brand because its very light weight and easy to use. Try LuxuryBarber.com this is where I find most of my grooming essentials.

If you bought a TI with a Grim Blades logo, it'd be ok. I'd stay away from one of their in house blades. I'm trying to get one of their "razor shaped metal things" honed and redeemable for a guy at work. I'd never buy one of their offerings. They don't even have a phone, don't respond quickly to emails, and apparently have three different business names.

    Caveat emptor.
