Default Need an east coast after shave

Any good ones for the winter? Went outside today and it was freezing my freshly shaved face became chapped instantly. Got to be something out there that will help.

    Jim,

I would recommend adding a moisturizing balm, such as Nivea for Men, to your post-shave routine.

You can also purchase custom after shave balms from an online vendor such as Barclay Crocker. I purchased a Bay Rum scented balm from them awhile ago.

So my current goto balm is bluebeard revenge. But that did not help in the cold.

Winter time I apply my balm last and while face is still a bit moist, I add a drop or two of glycerin to my palm along with the balm.
Rub my hands together to mix and apply.
Glycerin is used in lotions to soften the skin and lock in moisture.
If you read the bottles you can add a few drops of water and a few drops of glycerin to use for dry skin.
Chapped and wind burnt are due to loss of moisture.
    It is just Whisker Whacking
    Relax and Enjoy!

As has been pointed out moisture is the key. So any balm, moisturizer, or lotion you like will do the trick. If you have skin that is prone to breaking out i would recommend aveeno clear complexion moisturizer.

I just picked up some Aveeno A/S yesterday @ Wally world, because it's starting to get dry indoors now here in Maine. I usually use Thayers medicated witch hazel, I like the burn, but it seems to dry the face. Anyway I used the Aveeno today and no issues (it was 24F when I went out to church today) and my wife said my face felt good.

Nivea products are great! I'd suggest Nivea's Face & Body lotion fast absorbing. This is the only thing that has kept my hands from looking like hell and it last all day. No greasy feeling at all, hand washing after hand washing it still keeps working. Now I will say I haven't used it on my face, but I would expect the same results since it is for your face too. I can't stand most balms, they all feel as if I hadn't washed my face after applying, and it feels that way too. Nivea....
