Thumbs up good razor for a beginner?

I know you guys have made a point to encourage buying from the Classifieds because its reputable and guarantees quality. But I saw this attractive blade on craigslist, and it seems like a good razor from my novice eyes. Would anyone more experienced be able to tell me if its a good starter razor or if it has anything that would hold me back. Thanks in Advance for your response.

I would appreciate any tips on the quality of the razor as well as any questions I should as the seller.

It looks OK, the size is comfortable, it looks like a 1/4-grind (forgiving), and the price is certainly right. However, I would be aware that the language "working bevel on the blade" probably means that it is NOT "shave-ready", so be prepared to spend around $20 for proper professional honing.

    Smooth shaving!

Nice razor - if you like it, keep it until you get some miles under your belt. Get a razor where you're prepared to experiment and make mistakes on (like I did, had to send it off to get re-honed and polished).

DOVO's are always good starter blades IMO.

    Welcome!

As JB pointed out, you WILL NEED TO HAVE IT HONED! PERIOD! End of story!

With that said, it should be a nice razor for you!

PM Me! I'll give you some recommendations!
