Default I made a newb mistake: Carbon Dovo + Ultrasonic cleaner = Not a good idea (Photo)

EDIT: I meant mistake, not mistaken.

So I received a beautiful second hand Dovo La Forme today.
Like my DE razors, I thought it would be a good idea to clean it up in a Ultrasonic cleaner and then perhaps soak it in barbicide.
    I guess I was wrong.

I washed off the oil the seller had applied and then soaked the blade in the ultrasonic cleaner for one cycle, it had a few drops of Blitz Gem solution in it.
After removing the blade I noticed these dark marks on the razor, they're only on one side.

After posting this in a few Facebook groups, I now know carbon steel + water is not a good idea.
I know it should polish off but I'm concerned about ruining the gold etching, any suggestions on how I should approach this repair?

What polish would you recommend and what method? Q-Tip, cotton ball, paper towel, microfiber towel, etc?

Do not leave the razor closed for the next day or so, you also soaked the wood scales, so there will be moisture hiding there for quite awhile..

You might want to get some TP and a light machine oil and get some in the pivot but that might be too late unless you did it fast

Q-tips and careful cleaning around the etch with MAAS should clean it up pretty well, but in general if you look at the Gold etch crosseyed it will come off

I dried the blade as much as I could and used a blow dryer (cool setting) on the pivot pin, then applied olive oil (all I had) to the blade.

I ordered MAAS and it should be here tomorrow.

I hope you use a high grade of olive oil,the cheap stuff is very acidic

It is but what kind of oil do you recommend I use for storing the razor?

I don't notice anything in the pic. Am I missing something?

Look at LA FORME etching, there is a mark near the A and R.

OH. I thought that was camera glare or shadow. Bad news bears. Hope you can fix it!
