Default E.A. Berg with Carbon Fiber

Ok, in case you didn't see it in my Carbon Fiber post, here is that member's E.A. Berg with my first set of CF scales again. These pics are nicer anyway.

    Very, very nice

What's the weight like in the CF scales, Alex? Is it comparable to plastic scales? Lighter? Heavier?

EDIT: Nevermind - Just saw chancecatalyst's thread.

I like the balanced look of this one the best of the 3.
Scale style suits the blade well.

How am I supposed to brag about this properly if you're posting better pics of it than I am??

Honestly I would say it is heavier than Celluloid and all that stuff. Balances well though. I don't really take balance into consideration when doing these, but it seems to work out well. Check THIS out. That post talks about the balance of this very set.

On the other razors in CF I posted the balance seems great to me also. CF feels solid, not too light, not too heavy. It is pretty awesome, I'll probably do a lot of my own blades in this from now on.

Nice job Alex - those scales look cool! What did you use for the wedge?

It is acrylic- like what they use for making pens on a lathe. It is really a vibrant orange with swirls, but these photos don't really show that.

Great job, love the scales, and they go great with the blade shape.

Huh....I'll have to look into that....I bet it looks really cool in person. I saw some acrylic blocks at Woodcrafters once that were for custom pens, but they would have been a little too short for scales. Didn't think about using them for other things.....very nice job!
