So glad its friday. Robert recomended Bath house Spanish Fig and Nutmeg. I also recieved my razor back from Max. So what a great reason to bring them both out. So that was the plan. Well last night i tried a new honing routine for the 2nd time. Just to make sure the first was not an accident. So my Max blade is shareing the spot light. Sorry but i was to excited to wait for more stubble to test her out alone.

    Tony Miller strop
    Vestavia Brush
Bath House Spanish Fig & Nutmeg
    Pipe Razor & Fili 13
    WH
    Skin food
    TAOS BALM

The results were awesome. The soap is thick and creamy. The scent subtle. Fantastic stuff. MAx razor was... Well MAX! Always perfect. My Fili13 showed me that the first was not a mistake. Woo Hoo. Zero irritation and SOOOOO Smooth!!!!!!!

    Have a great Friday Men!!!

No picture today, shave was not really worth one. Back is still fugged up and I was running late so I grabbed the wife's Lady Gillette DE and a derby blade. Decent shave, still prefer straight though.

I hear ya buddy...but be careful with the SE (I am remembering what happened last week with your Ever Ready, I think)...Besides, as I mentioned to Mark, I don't think Max' SOTD insurance policy can afford another casualty of shaving LOL, LOL.

Very nice thorough review Rum. I think you will grow to really like this creme. But, I do think she has better performing French cousins (like MdC)

Beautiful Livi for a Spring like weather. Who could ask for anything more? Enjoy Easter vacation. How long will you be off?

Now, that sounds like a plan Birnando...I see you survived the board meeting (no easy task) and deserve a little decompression time with friends. Enjoy the weekend my friend

    Beautiful AJ btw.

Ain't that the truth. Imagine how much saved in a year, a lifetime? Nice "complex" shave

Nice shave Bill. Great rescale Rene. I am sure a refresh on the stones will reveal that crispy sharpness.

    Ben,
I guess it's one of those days for you. Sorry to hear it. Back pain is no fun either. Hope you recover soon. At least, it's the weekend.

Thank you Tom! The Red Imp is a cool blade (the Ever Ready is nice too, but it looks nicer than it is).

Thank you Bill! Well, it´s my Tabac puck bowl nothing special though and I bought it for a fiver (5 $), like the Ever Ready I think it looks cooler in the picture than irl.

I will for sure Robert, this time when I use the MMOC, I'll make sure I'm awake and have had my cup of coffee first. LOL Actually, It should be 50% safer than using a DE right? LOL

Post Week of April 10 SOTD - Friday

    Honing Experiment (Series 1 - Asagi "w/Nagura progression" Polish/Finish)

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 22mm New Forest Silvertip Badger
Razor: 6/8" Geneva Cutlery, Full Hollow, Round Point (from Rene)
Honing Regimen: See link HERE for details. (1) Shapton Pro 1k/2k/5k/12k, and (2) Maruka Asagi w/ Nagura slurry progression (polish/finish)
Strop: 0 laps (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: TABAC Shave Creme + TABAC Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
Results: Today was the last of the series #1 experiments. More results are posted HERE. The blade tested was with the JNat w/ Nagura progression. GREAT shave, not excellent!!!!! I feel it needed more sharpness. Very smooth and BBS and irritation free. This shave had the following rating: (1) Sharpness: 8.0-8.5, and (2) Smoothness: 9.0 - 9.5. Qualitatively, the sharpness was not quite there, but smoothness remained basically the same. Next week (starting Monday), I will start with Series #2.
