WOO HOO! I just got back the blade Stefan honed for me. If you saw my thread about this blade. I was told it could not be honed. Im so glad i asked for options. What an edge. Couldnt even tell it was cutting hair. Sooooo smooth. This is one of my top edges.

Oh the other picture was taken on friday by my daughter before i got home from work. I was a little upset for her touching my razor. I dont want her to get cut. But then i saw the picture and though. Hmmm... I my have her take my SOTD pictures. LOL!

    Default Saturday

Prep: Hot shower--followed by Proraso pre-post shave cream…
    Brush:
Rooney 3-1 Faux Tortoise “Super Badger”
    SC:
    Erasmic
    Razor:
    5/8 “Red Imp”
    Astringent:
    Thayer’s Original Witch Hazel
    ASB:
    Nivea for Men “Sensitive”
    AS:
    Booster “Polar Ice”
    Result:
Decent shave, but I’ve had better…

Methinks this Red Imp needs a bit of honing to live up to its true potential. I'll make it my first post-Christmas honing project once I get my Naniwa Superstones.

Just when someone say it cannot be done, someone else steps in and proves them wrong . Great blades Rene and Kudos to Stefan for making this happen for you

PS: I think your daughter is better at SOTD shots than you .

    Monroe,
Beautiful blade...I can't believe that you are going to wait 'til X-mas to get this going ? Man...you've got way more will power than I do Monroe. I salute you my friend . I wish I had that kind of control .

    Prep:Hot Towell
    Brush:Semogue 830
Strop: SRD Premium IV English Bridle
    Scuttle: SRD
    Soap: Mama Bear's “Apple Spice”
Razor: Wostenholm “Genuine Original Pipe Razor est. 1694”
    After shave: Master's Bay Rum
    EDT: Polo Blue

Result: When I got home from work late last evening, there was a notice from the post office that I have a package waiting for me at the post office. I was so excited when I got up this morning because I knew that the package contained the Semogue 830 I had ordered. I waited and waited until the post office opened, bundled up my 22 month old daughter and dashed out to pick it up. When I got the package I did my best to stay calm and mask the excitement that was building as my heart pounded deeply in my chest SE-MOGUE-SE-MOGUE. I got in the car, strapped my daughter in her car seat and then ripped open the package as if it were Christmas day. Bruno had included a wonderfully scented soap in addition to the brush and I found my self fighting the urge not to attempt to break the sound barrier to get home and give it a whirl. I drove safely home, handed off my daughter to my now awake wife, and proudly proclaimed “I'm going to shave”, as my heart continued to pound SE-MOGUE-SE-MOGUE. Those words were enough and she knew I was a man possessed. I turned and went straight to the shave den. I shampooed the brush, used conditioner on it, and built 6 lathers of a soap that was almost gone so it would be well broken in. I placed it in the scuttle with hot water as I contemplated the potential soaps for its maiden voyage. Baked apples over pork tenderloin came to mind and so it was that the boars hair maiden voyage would be with “Apple Spice”. The smell of apple & clove wafted upwards as I loaded the brush. A light foam began to form on the surface of the soap puck, SE-MOGUE-SE-MOGUE, I lifted the knot to my face and began to face lather, SE-MOGUE-SE-MOGUE, the lather thickened and then there was silence...Krrrrrrrrr,Krrrrr,Krrr,Krrr,fffffff, went the blade as it sliced through the whiskers and left only smooth skin. I think I'm going to like this new brush...let's just call today's shave...GREAT!

Thanks to all of you who recommended this brush!

Have a great Saturday gentlemen, you deserve it!
