This is a good brush. If I didn't like boar so much I could get real serious about this badger. Nice shave this morning. Have a good one.

    SOTD: Friday - May 22, 2015

    Sampsons Shaving Soap (Sample)
    Plisson Synthetic Brush
    Friodur 17 7/8 Razor
    Sampsons Moisturizing Aftershave (Sample)

I was introduced to the Sampsons Products by Jarrod from The Superior Shave. I was impressed enough to order a jar/tub of each product. Further testing will determine my final opinion.

    May 22nd , SOTD
    Two days’ growth
    Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: W.B. Speed Rabbit marked, square point 9/16, with black plastic scales
Strop: Drygulch Chromexcel Horsehide and Linen (only stropped after shave)
Soap: Barrister & Mann's Fireside (Brandy scented)
Brush: 24mm Finest Badger in Quilted Walnut handle
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, Thayer’s Witch Hazel
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

Brush and Razor are from the May Giveaway contest. Thank you again to the donors and to str8razor for organizing it. Had a pretty great shave this morning. This is shave 16 with a traditional straight razor, and I would say 95% of my face and neck is BBS, with the normal trouble spots for me making the overall shave DFS. Happy Friday all.

    Two new toys:

    Henkotsu Kamisori
    Esbjerg Verbena Shaving Cream.

The Esbjerg is very slick and pretty well cushioned and smells fantastic.

The Henkotsu is my first Kamisori, and today was my first try. It is a little fiddly getting used to just using my right hand (I use both with western style straights); but no cuts, no burn, good clean shave.
