Oh yes, the curse of the proletariat and one of which Tom is sure I am afflicted with, for reasons best known to himself alone. The common folly of mankind. What-ho, Achilles!

Big ups to Martin for his input.... & his sense of humour.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback.

Certainly a box of 100 blades would be cheaper to ship than a box of 100 complete razors. At the top of their game, they were probably moving enough razors to see big savings in doing that.
That seems fairly logical and makes sense to me. Oh well, time to take the plunge I suppose!

This advertisement claims Dubl Duck razor are made of Swedish steel, but for an American company, and truly made in Germany, or perhaps assembled in the USA?

Personally, I don't think DDs were ever assembled in the USA because it is so much easier for a strictly import company to deal with fully assembled products for distribution. Absolutely no proof for that POV unfortunately. I also think that the small differences in the DDs were the result of what was on hand and in style at the moment any particular order was filled by the manufacturer. Let alone that there is a possibility that over time various manufacturers won contracts to supply DDs to the importer. I don't think I have ever seen it stated anywhere with any authority who exactly did manufacture DDs for the importer.
