Here's an other recent local file. It's in great condition all the way around and shaves like a dream. Special thanks to CarrieM for finding this great razor.

Good morning gentleman. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this razor. Says "The Oak" on the blade and has silver inlays at the bottom of both scales that read "Tree Brand". It looks to be in good condition and I'm thinking it's probably one of the earliest of H. Bokers. I've never seen an H. Boker like this before. Anyone know about this razor?

It doesn't show up in the 1906 Boker catalog so its probably sometime after that date I would say. The silver is most likely German Silver which Boker usually used. over all it's a very nice razor though.

Well what about being manufactured before the 1906 catalog? On the shaft of the blade under the Tree logo the number is 3071. Someone sent me this trademark list and according to it I'm assuming that since the Trademark logo used on the scales are "tree brand" like the trademark logo on the list, the razor might be from 1869-1900. I have never seen an H.Boker like this! I am ecstatic, perhaps I may have gotten a genuine antique collectable.Hope I get a nice close shave out of this.

Here is my Boker Eagle, which I believe is from the 1924-1935 era.

The first picture is how it was right from eBay. The sales were broken at the pins.

The second picture is after new scales from gssixgun (Glen). I asked for a traditional look to match the Americana look of the blade. I wanted black scales without a lot of visible grain so as not to compete with the etching on the blade and to echo the original black scales. I therefore chose African Blackwood (Senegal Ebony) to which Glen gave a Permalyn finish, a red and black swirled acrylic wedge and all brass hardware.

Of the three straights I have, this is the best looking and the best shaver.

Take a look through the catalog and you will see that a lot of the trademarks on the tang overlap within one time period have a look at page 6-8 of this thread for the data.

JrJoeD had at the camera this morning and snapped shots for around 1.5 hrs. Rad hit pretty good lately so there was a bunch to shoot. I'm reporting this local find with better pics. Mods please feel free to remove the original post of this razor.
