I couldn't resist showing these off as well. Joseph Rodgers Razors are fantastic shavers, that's for sure!

Yep, Quinton it is. Of the many razors I've came in contact with, this ivory pair has to be by far the most beautiful set of razors I've ever possessed. I have a feeling I want have them for long either, guess we shall find out soon. You can bet I'll get at least one good shave in before they go though!

Hi Quinton, That set is beautiful but those two that Ralfy linked to knocked my socks clean off. Oh, if I can just hit the lottery between know and the end of the auction.

Hi Jimmy, better put your socks back on and check out the pair I posted before the 7 day set. I can't quit looking at'em myself! Just kills me not to be able to describe them "completely" without being slapped on the wrist. Then again, it's the administration's world, I'm just passin' through it!

Those are what I'm talking about. I've never seen ivory scales carved like that and I've been messing with old razors since the 1980s.

I've never seen anything like them either. I've seen plenty of imitation scales with similar designs. Despite the fact that I knew they were ivory, and the collector who owned these beauties told me they were ivory, I still spent 30 mins with a 30x loop going over these to make 100% certain they were genuine. Even tried to burn a hole in one with a red hot steel toothpick that didn't make a single scratch.

They're both stamped "England", so they were made after 1900...wonder when they were made? Better yet, wonder how much they cost when purchased back then? I've never seen anything like these in old catalogs or other razor ads.

And what interestingly, on the tangs "Cutlers To Their Majesties", on the other side of the box "Cutlers to Her Majesty". Year ago, we discussed on the forum about "Her Majesty" on the blades.

Interesting. I've read about this as well, but have not encountered a razor set's case with markings that didn't match the tang stamp. I'm guessing your set is not marked "England"?

Yes. The set is not marked "England".
Such sets were made 1830-1860.
