Default Denim Flatbed Hone - Homemade!

So I've finished making my flatbed hone!

Its actually made from a piece of windowsill that I half-inched from my dads workshop. Its made out of a hard fibrous plastic and is totally flat on top, so ideal for making a hone with...!

I cut a 3-and-a-bit inch wide piece of the sill and cleaned up the edges with a fine file. Then I took some old jeans and a pair of scissors and cut out my denim. Then I just glued the denim on top and voila!

Its not especially pretty, but its a good length, tough, durable and cost me precisely nothing! Thats my DOVO Bismarck in the picture, just to give an idea of scale.

Oh, and I sprayed it with 0.5m diamond spray as well, and it works a treat!

Very nice! I might consider making one with a piece of lumber sometime soon if I don't save the money for a nice strop.
