    Default United Kingdom meeting 2012

For those who did not read London thread I will describe again.
I have intention to organize UK meeting. There are two options either London or Sheffield. In London I do not have location yet but in Sheffield it could be in Fat Cat Pub on Kelham Island. Pub is one of the old cutlers pubs. Kelham Island museum of Sheffield Industry is next door as well as their famous brewery.
Accommodation for those coming from further away is plentiful not far away.

The date is not yet solid but I am thinking about end of October to beginning of December time. It would be on Saturday afternoon extending over the evening.

I am looking for volunteers to help me with some program such as razor honing etc.

Please indicate your interest either here or by message to me with preferred location and date.

Of course if there is enough interest there could be both meetings. If there would not be enough interest then I will have small session at home near London.

Deadline for setting the meeting will be 20/10/2012.

Considering the kindness & generousity showed to me as a first timer at the last meet it would be rude of me not to come along and now be able to give something in return.
I am cool with either location, Sheffield would give me a opportunity to spend a night away from the kids and have dinner with those who wish.

I would be happy to give a demonstration using the CA (super glue) method of polishing wooden scales.
My honing is pretty much upto scratch too. So I can bring my set of Naniwa's (SS)

    I'm in!
Although October could be difficult unless it's mid October. After October, I'm free!

I'm up for attending. I'm a complete fresher, but yes I'm a bit of a real ale specialist too. My mates run the "Tap" chain i.e Sheffield Tap, York Tap etc and Kelham brew some good stuff do yeah, dibs I'm in.

    Stephan... count me in!

While I would prefer an evening in town (the Red Lion has a room to use and inexpensive accommodations for travellers), I might be able to swing a trip to Sheffield.

Is there any way Manchester could be an option?

I would be up for a meet in London, especially if Aunty Stella Artois features at some point!

Then let's choose a date in October for a Friday or Saturday night. We could contact the Red Lion for a few tables for our beer and razor use. I go in there a lot, so I can take care of reserving a space. Since they also have some hotel rooms, I can see what I can do about a discounted rate if anyone wants to spend the night. Luton is only a half hour by rail from St Pancras, so the London folks should find it easy to get there.

Someone has to make a decision, so I guess I will. The Luton Mini-Meet will be scheduled soon.

I'm assuming that Stu and Maurice will attend!

Ok guys D day is here and results are more than poor. Apart from me 3 people for London and 2 for Sheffield.
With these numbers I have to say sorry this is NOT going to happen this time. If any of those who shown the interest are still keen we can organise to meet in my house in Luton.
