Default My First Full Custom: The Bastard (File Razor)

Its been 8 months since I started this project, and I finally finished putting it together last night.
Although much of that time has been spent on research, and man I've learnt a LOT along the way.
Everything from building a forge and hollow grinding to heat treatment and blade geometry.
The 7/8 blade is an old Nicholson Bastard file I picked up at a garage sale. The scales are midnight acrylic, S/Steel washers on NiAg pins.
I intentionally left some of the markings from the original file around the tang, to make the origin of the blade more obvious.
All of this was done with a fairly simple setup, most of the hollow grinding was actually done on my 5 inch bench grinder. Here are a couple of other threads I started along the way for anyone who is interested in the process. http://straightrazorpalace.com/forge...ade-forge.html http://straightrazorpalace.com/forge...rd-razors.html
A huge thankyou to all the guys who have answered my questions and given me guidance with this, particularly the guys over on the Forge forum. Couldn't have done it with out ya

    Nice job!

Excellent job! I like the attitude the blade gives off. Leaving it rough around the edges was a great decision, truly an amazing custom piece.
