Thanked: 198Am I the only one that see's these ad's
Now i do not want the fine people who run this site to take this the wrong way, i do not blame them, but here is something i have noticed that i think should be brought up. Recently, when comeing into ths forum, i am seeing ad's on the side, by either google or whoever, for such blades as krieger. Now i don't assume for one minute that the mods, or even the designers have any control over this, but i don't believe we want to be sending the message to other newbies, and not so newbies like myself that those are in any way shape and for endorsed as good razors by this wonderful forum. Granted we have it listed in the wiki section that they are blades to be avoided, but when the ad is listed on the right, it kinda can give the wrong message. now this is my opinion, and please feel free to correct me if i am wrong in this.

Interesting . I agree they don't belong here but I've never seen an ad for Kriegars .
I bet you don't get the ads for Sydney Barbers either. Wonder how they're selected ?“The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.”

Thanked: 1371Sort of... They don't actually pull the history from your browser. They put in a cookie that tells them everywhere you go: Interest-based advertising: How it works - Google Ads Preferences
If you want to you can get the opt out plugin here: Google Advertising Cookie Opt-out Plugin
Oh, there's a deal too that tells them roughly where you live so that they can target geographically based content to you. I'm not totally sure how that works, but I think it's based on the IP addy. I've used different softwares that make it look like my IP is somewhere else, and I'd get ads targeted to those locations.Last edited by HNSB; 01-05-2011 at 11:21 PM.
