That is fantastic. I'd feel honored to stand in the same room with Pete Seeger, let alone perform as part of his birthday celebration. Congrats to Scarlett!

    Thanks Rich!

I was tyhe most honored in my life when I actually had the opportunity to feed Pete Seeger a sandwich made with my smoked beef brisket. (I have a photo of him eating I will dig up later). He sent a note to the host of the shindig at which I cooked, "Tell Brad that was the best meat sandwich I've eaten in all my long years. Old Pete."

If I said yes, would you travel from Iowa to NYC for the event?

Here's a picture of Pete I caught that I really like. I am thinking about getting a nice large print of it and try to get everyone in the show to sign it!

I can't begin to describe how proud of and happy for my girlfriend I am.

Well, by "us" I meant SRP, but yeah, I'd come for a show like that! Question: what is the end of the phrase on his banjo obscured by his arm? "...forces it to ________"

That banjo is well known in folk music world. That is why that picture is a hit. People know it's Pete Seeger because of his axe.If you watched the concert at the Lincoln Memorial you can see this instrument. It says, "This machine surrounds hate and forces it to surrender." Here it is:
