If these posts keep on showing these beautiful Gottas, I'm going to break down in tears. I am in the market for one of these now...following some on the bay and on Revisor's site (when they're back from vacation end of August)

    Do you recommend a 5/8 or 6/8?

I have a 5/8 and it's lovely never tried a 6/8, I also have another Gotta 120, which is about 1/2 inch longer than my current one which has got me bugged coz I was hoping for a set, alas, it's in the box ready for restore but with the pitting I fear I may need to strip off the goldwash

Razor: 9/16 Late Greaves & Sons, Sheffield, Wedge, French Point
    Pre-Shave Cream: Proraso
Shaving Cream: The Real Co. Shaving Cream (Thanks Sir Ralfy for the sample)
    Lather Bowl: Ceramic
    Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
    Brush: Col Conk Barbershop Badger
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
    Aftershave: Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

Early Shave this morning but a late post. I left early this morning on a motorcycle trip into the Siskiyou Mountains of Southern Oregon with the Widow's Sons MA. A beautiful day ride through the conifer forests and visit to the mountain lakes in beautiful Southern Oregon. Couldn't go without first getting a great shave from the Greaves and the comfortable lather of the Real Shave Co. SC. I assume this is Musgo Real SC because it felt exactly the same. (? Ralfy?) Love the shave the Greaves provides whenever I break it out. It is an outstanding shaver!

    Default Classic English Shave

    Location: 40°46'48.93"N 73°57'47.93"W
Music: everything Art Tatum I have
    Razor: James Dewsnap Ivory
    Brush: Rudy Vey Ivory Custom
    Soap: Penhaligon's English Fern
    Astringent: Agua de Florida
    AS: Aveda+444 gel
Result: Tonight's razor is a James Dewsnap of Sheffield, and is a birthday gift to my Uncle Duke Dewsnap. He doesn't straight shave at all but I had to give it a test run to be sure it was ready. I even had a trusty Helje standing by but this little wedge carried me all the way to the end of a classic English shave.

Forget the shave Justin! Great choice in music man . I love Art's "Willow Weep for Me". I need to dig into my music CDs of long ago and dig some of these out

    Thanks

    Default Thursday morning

    Pre: Hot shower
Brush: Chris custom 24 mmm finest two band
    Razor: Friodur 15/16
    Soap: MWF
    Post: Proraso
    AS: Alcolado Glacial
    Strop: Neil Miller linnen/buffallo 30/60
    Result: Very, very clean
Second try with the MWF, this time I used a lot of water and it worked out better (not so heavy lather this time). I got tons of lather, brush loaded like a mad badger during approx. 30 secs. I think I never had so much laher, enough for a full body pass, easy. However I only did three in the face and got really clean. I think I can do better though, by adding even more water. You guys who uses the MWF, do you find it to demand much water?
